No parent sets out from the get-go saying, “I want to really mess up my kid.” But all of us carry around scars left by our parents. Some go deeper than others, some define us as adults, and some have helped us become better people.

Why are parental scars inevitable? Because parenting is hard. Really hard. And with anything in life that is a challenge, there will undoubtedly be some failures along the way. As parents, we need to realize that our successes can be greater than our failures and that even perceived “failures” can make us into better parents, which in turn makes our kids better off.

Mom + Life is about the intersection of being a mom/parent and life. Truthful, messy, ridiculously funny life. My hope and desire is that this can be a place where you’ll find encouragement, knowledge, and the feeling that you’re not alone in your parenting journey.

I’d love to hear personal stories of what you’re going through, so please don’t hesitate to reach out. After all, we’re all in this together!
